“Functional Patterns Perth strives to continue to deliver the absolute best quality of service to its customers. I hold myself, my clients and my colleagues to the highest of standards which is why I can confidently say that FP Perth is the number 1 training facility in the state... and we're only just getting started.”

Bronte Robson is a Functional Patterns Human Biomechanics Specialist with more than 20 years experience working in the exercise and rehabilitation industry. Over the years she has helped people of all ages and abilities achieve fantastic results, from clients dealing with joint pain, post-stroke mobility issues, cerebral palsy to professional athletes.

“I came across Functional Patterns in 2017 while searching for answers to my own chronic pain and health issues. Despite nearly 20 years as a Pilates trainer and educator heavily involved in the holistic health industry, it wasn’t until watching FP's online material that I quickly came to recognise where I had been going wrong. Years of passive stretching, trianing in isolation instead of integration and confusing my body with movement that did not respect how humans have evolved to move had led to dysfunction, compensation…and pain. I came to understand that I needed to train and live in a way that respects our human nature and seeks to optimise the essential human functions of standing, walking, running and throwing.

When I’m not working I enjoy relaxing at home with my dog, going for long bush-walks, surfing and swimming in the ocean; all things that caused pain prior to FP.”

David Schrader is a Functional Patterns Human Biomechanics Specialist. Dave joined the FP Perth team in 2021 having previously been a client of the gym and has quickly built an impressive portfolio of results with his own clientele. After making substantial changes to his own body, Dave understands the struggle each individual goes through when trying to correct their mechanics and has a great deal of patience with the people he works with.

“I came across FP in 2018, dealing with scoliosis and a range of issues that were causing daily back and joint pain.

After trying many different modalities and therapies, FP improved my quality of life so profoundly that I eventually felt compelled to become a practitioner.

My background in engineering & science  (BE(Hons), MSci) complements the way Functional Patterns utilises the scientific method and a first principles way of thinking.

I have been fortunate enough to travel the country and the world to train and learn from over a dozen experts in the field.

I now enjoy martial arts, dance, hiking and spending time in nature, pain free. I’m passionate about helping others lead a pain free healthy life as well.”

Xanthe Hand is a Functional Patterns Human Foundations Practitioner. Xanthe has worked as a full time chiropractor for over a decade and has treated people with all kinds of pain and dysfunction. As a former professional volleyball player Xanthe understands what correct movement should look and feel like. Having trained at Functional Patterns Perth for several years, Xanthe got certified as a Functional Patterns practitioner in 2023 and has quickly become a valuable member of the FP Perth team.

“I have a background as a professional athlete, meaning I was training in the gym a minimum of 3 times a week and training volleyball daily. My body wasn't in any significant pain, although I do remember feeling like the training I was doing didn't feel good and any progress I had made would be quickly lost if I didn't continue training.

When I saw the results FP was achieving and the types of movements they were doing, I was instantly convinced I needed to try it for myself. Soon after starting, I realised I wanted to become certified and I can honestly say it is one of the best things I have ever done, as I can see how Functional Patterns has greatly and positively changed the course of my life.

Regardless of what people come to FP struggling with, I see them gain improvements and a new understanding of how to work with their body, leading to better outcomes.

I thoroughly enjoy being a Functional Patterns practitioner, as it is so gratifying, and I am continuously learning along the way.”

Enya Zankharia is a Functional Patterns Human Foundations Practitioner. Enya has a degree in Sport & Exercise Science and a background in tennis. After finding the solutions to her own pain through Functional Patterns she decided to forgo further university study to become a certified FP practitioner. Enya’s precision and eye for detail when cueing her clients through the techniques is ultimately what leads to her clients achieving such phenomenal results.

“As someone who has always maintained an active lifestyle, with tennis as my primary sport, it was particularly frustrating that nobody seemed to have the answers to my constant and severe lower back pain and nerve pain radiating down my legs.

The FP approach, aligning training with our natural human biomechanics, resonated deeply with me. It not only provided life-changing results for my own pain but also provided a new perspective and understanding of the human body. This shift in perspective was so profound and made complete sense to me that I decided to become a certified FP practitioner. Now, I'm dedicated to sharing this transformative approach with others, helping them optimise their mechanics and live pain-free.

I now enjoy long walks, spending time in nature and playing tennis pain free"
